Caption Contest #1

Even if you don't plan on participating, it's fun to follow along! Like, I love reading the New Yorker Caption Contest even though I never actually enter.
This contest started because I had this illustration and I couldn't figure out what to write about. So, I put it out there. And of course it finally came to me when I wasn't thinking about it—and before I read any entries. I wasn't planning on contributing, because at the time I couldn't figure it out. And then once I did, I thought it'd be fun to see how other peeps would solve it. Like everything in life, it reminds us how we can all see the same thing differently.
I got sappy with this one, which is very different from my usual MoMeMans writing, but not necessarily different from Monica, the person. There's a lot going on in the world and this is where I landed. Sometimes the goofball gets sentimental.
